The EP docs specialize in the electrical system of the heart. An EKG is fine but the EP docs really know how to read it and see if there's a serious problem. I have an EP cardio and a regular cardio. But since my problems are all electrical I don't see the regular cardio any more. It doesn't mean a person is going to have a sudden cardiac arrest. The heart can do all kinds of funny things. Just look up "arrhythmias" some time. It goes on and on.
What kind of problems are you experiancing?
Talking about A-Fib coming and going, any news on Tony?

Disregard my previous post.I have just found him.

My arrhythmias are benign - pvc's and pac's all day long and occasional atrial tachy (a few times a week, most last less than a minute, rate usually 150 - 190). I've had 3 ablations which have actually improved the problem so I'm good with that. I don't take meds because too often the side effects are more troublesome than the arrhy's. I'd rather just be me, wacky tachy and all. :-)
Ian - glad you found Tony's msg. Stay tuned for more info on my Dad's decision.
SCA?
Electrophysiologist specialize in rhythm disorders. Some people can have benign runs of PVCs, but an electrophysiologist can better determine whether your PVCs are of any concern. Many people with arrhythmias see EP doctors. I hope everything goes well!
Thanks you guys...they don't really bother me. According the my holter they are some where around 500 a day but really only 20 or 30 on most days. I guess i paniced when the Dr. was now recommending the electrophysiologist.
3 ablations sound a lot. What type of arrythmia was it treating and why did they have to do it 3 times?
Also what was your experience and have you had any symptoms afterwards?
