I take it to mean that the rhythms you find disturbing are
controlled by the "vagus" nerve.
You may want to consider "vagally mediated" abnormal rhythms.
Docs speculate this is caused by sudden re-direction of blood to the disgestive system, thus affecting blood flow to the heart and triggering
the rhythms.
Others feel that the vagus nerve (which twines around the esophageal
regions), is stimulated and thus triggers the odd rhythms.
My experience says: Chew very fine and don't overeat. Beware of sudden
changes of position after eating -- abrupt moves like lying down on the couch which cause blood pressure adjustments.
