Paying attention

I have been reading several threads lately that relate to those who are having difficulty controlling their anxiety.  This stimulated my memory, and I will relate the story as my way of giving advice:
Several years ago a prominent and elderly woman who lived in the northern end of my rural Wyoming county suffered a heart attack.  She wrote about that experience in our local newspaper.  She told of feeling sorry for herself and thinking she was likely to die during the 80 mile trip to the hospital.  Then her thinking took an entirely different turn.  She decided that if she was going to die of it, it was an an adventure she was only going to do once--and she might as well pay attention to it.  This was a powerful message for me.  Life is too short to waste time worrying about things of which we have little control.  Life is an adventure start to finish, and we should all pay attention and revel in the experience.  Do the things we can control. Live a healthy lifestyle and certainly take responsibility for your health.  If you cannot control your anxiety, look at that as another medical issue and get help.  But above all, don't forget to live and enjoy.

I don't want to waste any of your time talking about anxiety when clearly you are about living a life. You and I wasted enough time and you know, I suspect there will be little wasting today in both our lives. One more thing, there are a lot of people that would love to be You!

I found out throughout my life that whatever I worried about NEVER came true but always the "unexpected".

Not scare about the dying or dead matter.  It can recarnation!  I'm making sure that my next recarnation I'll pick a good working and healthy heart.

I cann't tolerate the pain, dizzyness, chest tight, SOB and..... With all those symptoms, I can't run in my life comfortablely.  Sometimes, I really wish I can collapse and don't have to feel that anymore.  If I can wake up then I'll be fine and it should correct it for a while.  If I can't then I'll make my way to recarnation....

It isn't a scare, it just can't tolerate the torture!  I hope you all understand that.

I certainly don't want to minimize those who experience fear, anxiety, and/or depression related to their health issues. Perhaps that is more common than the opposite.  What I do suggest is if these problems do not resolve after a reasonable period, then seek professional intervention.  There are excellent medications for each of these issues, and with the guidance of experienced doctors (including psychiatrists), help can be found.  Good luck to you and please consider giving up is not an option.
