Hi Everyone,
I am a male in my mid-30's living in Las Vegas. A year ago I experienced chest pain and heart palpitations. I have had a few anxiety attacks and was pretty stressed at the time. We were moving to Las Vegas for my job promotion and I thought the stress of my new life events caused the chest pain and heart palpitations. With this came the fact that I may suddenly pass away and leave my wife and young children alone. This only made my anxiety worse!
After two trips to ER which turned out to be really bad anxiety attacks, I decided to see a cardiologist. I had several EKG's, a stress test, 24/hr hotter, and echo. The echo discovered I have a bicuspid aortic valve with minimal regurgitation and at that time appeared to be operating "normally." My heart palpitations (PACs & PVCs) were considered "benign." Since I don't smoke, cholesterol okay , except for HDL is always a few points under normal, there wasn't anything that stood out. I was diagnosed with costochondritis and given 10/mg of propranheol to reduce the heart PAC's & PVC's and to slow my hear rate when I have anxiety.
Fast forward a few months, we moved to Vegas, the job is going well and life is good. However I still experience heart palpitations and still have chest pains. I would like to see a cardiologist in Las Vegas since my PVC's & PAC's have increased in duration, frequency and forcefulness. We haven't had very good experience finding PCP's and don't even know where to start for a cardiologist. Any insight for a great cardiologist would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading this.
