I'm seeking help!!
I got back some of my test results on my prostate this morning from one of my doctors. They say my prostate has cancer and my doctors want to meet with me next Thursday on how we need to treat it. But before they try to treat the prostate problem, they want to do some more tests on my bladder and possibly my kidneys as my urine test shows abnormal cells that are probably cancer. Dr's does not think they were produced by the cancer in my prostate, meaning that I may have cancer in my bladder or kidneys too which they seemed to have more concern about than the prostate cancer.
With all that being said, when they did a CT scan of my body looking for spreading cancer, they accidentally found a large blood clot in my heart in the lower left ventricle. They cannot tell how long it has been there but the Cardiologist said it could have contributed to the two strokes I had earlier this year. The good news is that the blood clot is located at the bottom of the chamber where my heart was damaged by the heart attack I had 5 years ago. It that area, my damaged heart does not contract or squeeze. The blood clot may just stay there and not move. They want to wait until my cancer and prostate problems are solved before trying to treat the blood clot. They may try to dissolve it with blood thinners but I cannot have blood thinners while they work on my prostate, kidneys or bladder.
Depending on what they find from the tests next Friday with my bladder and kidneys, will determine how they will proceed with my prostate cancer treatment. They are also doing a bone scan next Thursday. For now, they are thinking about radiation treatment for the prostate.
Sorry to hear of your aunt's passing. My condolences!
The danger of lung blood clots (emboli) is if and when it gets into the blood stream it can reach the heart causing cardiac arrest or carotid artery resulting in a stroke.
Atrium refibrillation is not related to blood clots, but is a rhythm disorder causing irregular and/or fast heartbeats.
Moving around increases blood flow, and as a consequence can/will increase emboli activity. Antithrombotic mediation should be the therapy, and I'm not of an opinion regarding exercise, but it seems to me it would be contraindicated, however, an individual needs some exercise to prevent repiratory problems.
