Resting heart rate going back up after being on Metoprolol Tartrate?

I have been taking 25mg twice a day for almost a year. I was put on Metoprolol Tartrate almost a year ago for palpitations and a high resting heart rate. I'm 29 and my RHR was 90 before taking the betablocker. After a few weeks my HR would bounce between 42-55 while at rest. But then a few months ago I was sitting between 63-72 and now I'm at 81/82 again. Have any of you experienced it going back up after treatment? I also started taking Nifedipine 30mg once a day about 3 weeks ago, which is suppose to lower it too... I have my Congenital Heart Defect Specialist appointment tomorrow but I just wanted to see if it's something anyone else has experienced. Thank you.
