Results of MRA

I picked up my report from the MRA I had done last week.

Findings:  The aorta demonstrates normal branching pattern.  There is no evidence of dissection or aneurysm.  The maximum ascending aortic diameter is 3.6 cm at the level of the pulmonary artery.  Subclavian veins appear patent bilaterally and subclavian arteries are widely patent as well.

Impression:  Unremarkable thoracic aorta without evidence of aneurysm.  No significant change in the appearance of the ascending aorta when compared to the CT can from 2009.

The word patent is oftened used in connection with a stent implant and harvested vessels in a CABG and indicates no occlusions post operation.  Hope this helps.  Take care.

Widely patent is a good thing, in this situation.  The vessels are not blocked or clogged.
