Right atrium clot

A couple months ago an MRI that showed a clot in my right atrium 1 inch by 1.5 inches.  The cardiologiest thinks that my port-a-cath is too far in my heart, causeing clots.  I went on blood thinners and they now say the clot is almost gone ( but want another MRI) They first said that with a TEE it was nothing, just a little birth defect Ive always had. and then after syptoms and bagging I got the MRI, which showed the clot. The last little while I have had major heart palpatations.. so bad I have to sit to catch my breath.  I of course went to the doctor and without doing any tests, they said it was not the clot.. Im happy its not the clot, I just dont know what it is and why they are not more worried about it or care.  When I first found out about the clot they were very very worried and started treatment right away.. but since have not moved the port like the specialist said and will not help me with my heart syptoms.  Should I be worried? Ive just had so many things go wrong because the medical feild did not pay attention and Im afraid of it happening again.

How are you now.  I too have been diagnosed with a mass/clot in my right atrium.  I just had my port removed that had leads extended into the atruim where they are not suppose to be  As in your case, I have had several different thoughts on it and now have been on blood thinners for 30 days.  At day 28 of blood thinners there was no change in the size of the mass.  Is that out of the normal or does it take longer to dissolve?

Have you sought a second opinion?  If you don't feel your current doctor(s) is/are taking you seriously, it is time to find another.  While palpitations are often benign and nothing more than nusiance, sometimes they can mean something more.  If you're having symptoms with your palpitations, they should be evaluated.
