DIAMICRON MR: Stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:
•chest pain or pressure and/or shortness of breath
•seizures
•symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, e.g.:
•hives
•difficulty breathing
•swelling of the face or throat
I experienced shortness of breath lying down for 2 nights and went to ER thinking I had a respiratory problem. It turned out to be mild edema (fluid in the lungs) associated with congested heart failure.
You may want to get your doctor's opinion with a phone call regarding the symptom of SOB and the medication. Thanks for your question.

Shortness of breath is a common symptom that can be caused by a long list of possible underlying problems. The safest course of action would be to see your physician. Your doctor can take a careful history, conduct a physical exam, and then order appropriate tests. Without any additional information, it would not be possible to answer your question in an accurate manner.
