Signs of Blocked Heart and Arteries?

Hi,I was Wondering if anyone could tell me how a Doctor knows if you have a Blocked Heart or Arteries?

I had an ECG and My Blood Pressure taken on Thursday and both came back Normal,I have had Pains in my Heart Area for 17 Weeks and Breathlessness and Fear of Dieing and it has been Worrying me.

I have got a Heart Scan sometime soon where they put Gel on my Chest to look at My Heart,if that comes back Normal will they be able to Find what is Causing me My Pains?

Thanks
Steve.

Hi Yeah I have an Appointment in Late February for an EchoCardiogram,if The Doctor Finds there is nothing Sinister showing up on The EchoCardiogram would it be fine to relax?

I have had these Pains with Dizzyness,Tiredness,Heart Beating Fast and Pulsing for 18 Weeks now so,if the Ultrasound shows nothing Sinister, would that Mean My Problems are not Heart Related?

Thanks.

A doctor can use a cardlite nuclear stress test that they inject a type of nuclear dye into your blood stream and then take pictures of your heart so they can see the blood moving through the arteries.  They can pick up blockages in this way.  Also a cardiac MRI would pick up blocks.  A surgical procedure called a Cardiac Cath would be the most accurate way of testing this.  Sounds like you had an Echo Cardiogram in which they use ultra sound to look at your heart.  They can tell your ejection fracture, heart size, abnormalities with your heart structure, leaky valves, and much more.  For the most part this test is not used to tell if you have blockages.
