Simultaneous chest and back spasms

I've been having this weird symptom of chest and back spasms.  When they hit, it is paralyzing and I can't do anything until it passes.  I've had it for years but it is increasing.  I mentioned it to my PCP and all he said was "I don't know what that is." ... end of discussion.  I have heart issues.  Has anybody experienced anything like this?
