TachyBrady Syndrome

My husband has just been diagnosed with tachybrady syndrome.
He had a heart attack in June 2006.  In 2007 he had an ablation done to fix his atrial flutter, which seemed to do the trick.  He still had atrial fib and the doctors said he may have to eventualy have pulmonary vein ablation. ( which has not been done as of yet)
He was doing fine up until this past June when he started to have periods of his heart racing for up to three hours then would go down to approx 38 bpm.  This last stay in the hosptial is when they said he has the tachybrady syndrome and may have to get a pacemaker/defib.  My question is does anyone know anyone who has had this procedure done for tachybrady syndrome?  We heard it is not a very good success rate.
My husband is 52 years old and had no heart problem prior to his heart attack 2 years ago.
He was also diagnosed with having an overactive thyroid two weeks ago.
We are hoping to get into see a specialist soon but really were hoping to hear from other people who had this procedure.

I'm 38 year old male. I had open heart surgery almost 3 years ago to have a ASD repair and Maze Ablation. I was a healthy man at that point and again in great health. In Jan. of this year I went on a diet and lost 32 lbs in a month. I feel great and look great. I recently started to have afib and tach-brady stuff 3 weeks ago. If I can't catch my breathe from afib. I feel dizzy and lightheaded and faint from low heart rate. I've been placed in CCU 3 times in the last 3 weeks. I've met with numerous doctors and still know answers. The doctors took my drivers license away for medical reasons but still have done nothing. Except take a calcium blocker and blood pressure med along with a baby aspirin. I live in Alaska and its a pain in the butt. Any help or comments.
