Transthoracic-Eco

I had this test and in the conclusions it states.....

Normal left ventrical ejection fraction
Diastolic left ventricuar dysfunction
Impaired myocardial relaxation
Degenerative mitral valve disease
Mitral valve proapse
Mitral regurgitation
Dilated left atrium
Tricuspid regugitation

I've been having pressure in chest, vein in neck enlarged, low blood pressure (100/70) with high pulse rate at times (145).  Any advice would be helpful.

I had the same test done because of mitral regurgitation, and tricuspid regurgitation.  Usually when your echo shows that or a heart murmur among other things they order this test.

I'm 34.  He orderd it because I had a new murmer that I had never had before and to check for suspected cardiac thrombi  and embolic disease.  At the time I had a staff infection.
I found this in my medical records and they have never said a thing to me about it.  All they said is that I did not have vegetation.  Since then I've been put on pred (by my rumy) for what they think is MCTD.  I've been very ill for the past two years and pred has given me my life back.
I hope this helps....thank you!!!

what has your doctor recommended?  what was the reason for the test? i am assuming you had a transthoracic echo, and that your dr recommended that you have this test.   are you taking any meds, and also your age would be helpful.  normal ejection fraction is a good thing, if you have mitral valve prolapse that would go along with some degree of mitral regurgitation,   it really depends on the numbers, so it is very hard to go by what you have written as it is very vague.  dawn
