Update on my gramps

well they went in and did surgery for the absess he had in his abdomen ...turns out he needed some colon removed!  He survived the surgery but the dr said it wouldnt be unheard of to need to go in again!!  All of this just a week after his bypass surgery.  Gramps is weak and back on the ventilator tube thanks to having surgery again.  His white count is 64000 and he has a slight fever. He hasnt needed blood since tuesday altho his hemoglobin is down today and in the high 9's.  This is the most horrible ordeal to go thru and i wish we had never oopted for the bypass surgery.  He was walking around fine before all this and in great shape...  I just cant believe all this is happening.

am so sorry to here that, its hard when your young to get over a major surgery so i know as we age its really hard. i will keep him and your family in my prayers, hang in there he needs you . barbara

the dr said that is is common after being on the bypass machine during surgery for your bowels to slow down and mess up...They never mentioned any of these complications to us before the surgery and made it sound like my gramps would breeze thru it...he will now have to have a colostomy bag if he ever gets out of the hospital. I cant believe it.
