What is normal blood pressure fluctuations?

I'm a 27 year old male who just undergoed open heart operation.  I'm lucky to be alive right now.  I was perfectly normal and then all of a sudden it was like a light switch had went off one night.  I had a crushing sensation in my chest so I went to the emergency at night.  I didn't know what had happened to me.  The doctor at night didn't know exactly what was wrong and because I was so young they thought it was nothing serious except that I was hyperventlating.  I waited for over an hour before it was my turn, and by that time I saw the doctor my body began to shut down first the lower part of my legs then my arms and then my brain.  I just couldn't keep up anymore.  As soon as my brain shut down I was done.  The doctors did some tests and scans early in the morning as soon as I got up then half an hour later they rushed me to the Operating Room.  They transferred me from one hospital to the other so fast I didn't even have time to see my parents before going in.  I stayed in the hospital for about a week and everything was fine except my blood pressure.  It was constantly 190-200/100 even with the medication they gave me.  I was taking so much medication but nothing worked.  Then just as I thought I was able to get out of the hospital they told me to stay a bit longer just to control the BP before getting out.  Then I thought to myself when will I get out?  Luckly they found the right medication and dosage in the afternoon so I was fine then.  I was on inderal 160mg 3 times a day, but now 2 times a day.  Sorry about the long story.  Question is my blood pressure is okay from morning to late afternoon but as soon as 8:00PM to 10:00PM it is higher.  What is the reason for this?  It goes to 150-160/68 most of the times.  I take my medication at 11:00AM in the morning and 11:00PM at night.  So for the two hours or so it goes high.  What is causing this to happen?  Is it ok for it to be high for a little bit and then come down?

It appears you may have ideopathic high blood pressure meaning the cause is unknown.  Apparently, the 11.00AM dose is losing its effectiveness, you may need adjustment...discuss with your doctor
