Chest/heart pain

I have been suffering from chest pain quite frequently on and off for around 2 and a half years, but it has became particularly frequent and intense over the last few days, i feel quite lethargic and sometimes it makes me dizzy. My heartrate is fine (usually between 55 and 62) but my bp rose to 148/76 when i checked it immediately after the pain and dizziness, yet now it seem to have gone back to down to around 125/74.  I've had a heart problem before which i went to hospital about and had quite a few tests done which they said seemed to come through clear. They said without a history in the family i should be ok, though my family do tend to pass away around 55 of heart problems but nowhere near the age i am now. I'm only 23. They then put it down to excessive caffein. But with the increasing intensity and frequency it's starting to become a concern again. I have put a little excess weight on over the past few months and haven't had as much exercise as i used to. But i am around 6 ft and about 12st 3lb, so not really particularly overweight. Should i see a Dr?
Thanks

you can ask for a echo/stress test/ ekg that will check your heart out and give your mind a rest. was this a reg dr or a cardio dr.    if not happy go to a cardio dr they will run thest test for you .

Hello, thanks for the replies. Well i went to the doctors yesterday and he checked my bp which came out at 134/76 and he said that was fine, sounds a little high to me for my age but i guess he's the doctor....and then he had a listen through a stethoscope and from just those 2 things said my heart sounded fine and gave me some anti-inflammatories saying maybe i'd damaged something else. It just doesn't seem like a very thorough check of the old ticker, i was sort of expecting him to put me on an ecg or something....so i'm just not convinced, but i guess he knows what he's doing so i'll see how i go over the next few days or so and if it comes back maybe i'll have go back again.....

See a doctor. It's easy to assume it can't be your heart because you are young. But it's wise to have it checked. And when the tests show your heart is ok make certain you go back to the doctor and ask what could be the cause of your symptoms now your heart has a clean bill of health.

When was the last time you were evaluated for any cardiac issue?  It may be time to go back in and have some tests done again.  Check it out again.  Take care, Ally
