breathing difficulties while lying on back during lovemaking

im a cardiac patient with a defibillator implanted in my chest....... everytime i have intercourse while laying on my back .   i began to cough, and wheeze   ... is there anything i can do besides not lying on my back

I agree, it sounds like symptoms of heart failure.

I think this has nothing to do with the ICD but with the underlying disease
that you have.

Do you have a reduced left ventricular function?
Are you retaining fluids?
Were you with your habitual partner? Otherwise you duplicate your heart effort.
