It is unlikely you could get a heart cath if you doctor does not think it is medically indicated.  They are very expensive.  An alternative might be a 64 slice ct scan which can image your heart arteries.  It is much less expensive, and should give you a good indication of developing arteries, if that is happening.

The hiatal hernia and the acid reflux it causes should be dealt with first. If you are taking medicine that stops all acid reflux and continue to have any chest pain, then hammer the doctors more.

Try to lose a pound or so. Good luck,

Jack

Your testing seems to indicate your heart is fine.Sharp pain is not generally associated with angina. The nausea and loss of appetite seem to indicate anxiety issues more than anything.
From what I have been told, and I have had a cath myself,. is that in the right hands a cath is very safe.Of course every invasive test does carry some risk.I would only do the cath if your cardiologist thinks that it may be warranted in your case. But first try and relax, since the testing so far has not indicated any heart trouble.

Dimi.
