Chest Discomfort questions

I am 29 years old 288 pounds,. hypertension and panic and anxiety disorder. On Metorpolol 100 mg and zoloft 100 mgs

For the last three years I have been experiencing different types of light pain in my chest. Sometimes it is sharp and other times it is dull. It doesnt happen wen I am exercising, but when I am just sitting around doing nothing. I can pintpoint the pain with a finger or two, and I do not experience shortness of breath.

I have been to two doctors who say I am fine, have had 3 EKG;s and a holter monitor all have been normal.

What could this be, does it sound cardiac related?

As I sit at work I am getting it again, its like i could take a finger and rub the spot that the ache is.  Is angina more of a "spread out" feeling in the chest?

I guess I did not point out that I am male. What are the difference with womens symptoms? I feel like I should trust my doctor, when he tells me it is stress and that it is just a cycle because i am always thinking about it and worrying about it. It consumes every moment of every day.

Lose about 100lbs and I'll bet the anxiety disorder disappears. You are anxious for a reason. You know that your weight is going to take years off of your life.

Your pain does not sound like angina, as far as the "pinpointing" or feeling "sharp. Women have different symptoms. Take Tarheelguy's advice and get a stress test.

If the docs say you're fine, maybe you are. You are pretty young for cardiac problems, but guess it could happen.  If you are concerned, see a cardiologist, explain your symptoms and ask for a nuke stress test.  If that comes out ok, you probably don't have a cardiac problem.  But at 29 years old and 288 pounds, I know of one problem you definitely have and need to work on if you want to avoid cardiac problems (assuming you don't have them now) - and that is to get your weight down.  288 is a LOT of weight to carry around, and causes a burden on your heart.  Once cleared by a cardiologist, you need to go on a diet and exercise more to both lose weight and get in better shape.  Good luck to you!  By the way, I was very tempted to address my response to redsoxfan78, but decided to be nice to a reds fan :-)
