fluctuations in blood pressure

i have been experiencing high blood pressure, 200/120  then today i have been doing nothing but resting.
while sitting, i took my blood pressure 3 times, 1. it was 127/69, 3 min. later it was 132/81, 3 min later it was133/75
earlier today it was 177/103. question; is it normal to have such highs and lows within that time period without change in activity?

You don't indicte if you have a history oif high blood pressure and/or on medication.  But when a person has a history of hypertension, or if the blood pressure has not been well-controlled over a period of years, then the vessels themselves become more reactive, meaning they tighten up with less provocation than they would in an average person,

One of the manifestations of poorly controlled blood pressure is a high degree of variability.  A person with a lot of variation could easily have a blood pressure of 140/90 in the morning and a reading of 200/100 later in the day.

When you sit, your blood pressure will be the lowest.  132/81 is still too high while sitting.  It is good to take it three times.  Mine is usually lowest the first time and a little higher each time afterwards.  When your blood pressure is 177/103, were you active then?  Exercise can greatly increase the blood pressure.  Are you on blood pressure medicine?  Blood pressure as high as 200/120 is serious and can lead to a stroke.  Normal blood pressure is 120/72 and with heart disease most doctors want to see it lower.
