Heart Question

I have occasional spells of fainting with an increased heart rate that lasts all day,  My heart rate is usually at about 48.  It spikes to over 130.  I have had EKGs done, and EEG done, and an ultr sound on my heart.  The results show that my heart is fine.  It can come on randomly.  They thought maybe I had diabetes, that was not correct.  I faint no matter what I do.  It happened while I was laying down, sitting, while driving, and just walking.  I sometimes at night get woken up quickly, and my husband took my heart rate while I was asleep it dropped to 22 bpm.  I dont have high cholesterol. This all started after I had an eating disorder and reicieved the Gardasil shots.  What should I do?? Who should I see? My cardiologist says he cant find anything wrong.

Another test to consider is a doppler of the carotid arteries in your neck.

also, please be very very careful about fainting until they find a cause.

I've fainted since I was 9 and didn't find out what it was until I was 42...two weeks ago I had a really bad spell, hit the side of the tiled tub and severely sprained my neck, luckily nothing was broken and no blood on the brain as they originally thought.

Have they mentioned doing a tilt table test? any time there are fainting episodes, a TTT should be done yet many doctors don't do them

Tilt table testing can can rule out many things such as neurocardiogenic syncope, orthostatic intolerance, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome; also have they done a sleep study to see if you have sleep apnea since your HR drops that low during sleep?

Has a hyperthroidism been ruled out...An EKG may be inconclusive if you didn't have an episode during the test.
