is this a cardiac issue or thyroid issue?

I am a 39 year old female. I recently was told I had hashimotos. i have been taking levo for the last few years. i check all levels every six months.  about 6 weeks ago I started having severe attacks that would wake me from a dead sleep. A severe pain hits my heart it flips and spasms. pain radiates down my collar bone to each side then down my left arm to my wrist with a feeling of explosion. a pain shoots up my neck. attack lasts from 2-25 minutes. bp is really high. 4 days after attacks started i bought a bp monitor. it was hovering around 160/105 while resting. up until these attacks started i had a bp of 130/80 while active.   i went to the er and was told taht i was having panic attacks. Did an EKG and found nothing to explain chest pain. 2 days later im having more attacks. Only at night and while im in a dead sleep. I recorded myself sleeping to see if i was suffering from sleep apnea but was not. i began sleeping sitting up. Attacks increased in severity. Called an ambulance bp was 180/116. got to er did an ekg and found nothing suggesting heart issue. went to general doctor few days later. referred to cardiologist. was put on propanolol for chest pain was given an EKG, ultra sound and physical stress test. All results negative or inconclusive. weeks have gone by and now my attacks no longer happen at night or while resting but rather when i exert myself. chores for instance. 2 months ago i was running an entire house. raising a 4 year old and an 18 year old. now im having to take several breaks. When the attacks happen now the pain isnt so severe but i begin feeling dizzy have ringing in my right ear i break out in a slight sweat and i find it difficult to find words. i now have a constant discomfort-pain in my left chest. Pain still radiates down my collar bone and down the left arm. no pain or discomfort in shoulder area. the pain i experienced in the neck at night or while rest have reduced to just a discomfort while an attack is occurring. it does not hurt to breath.  i rarely have pain below the sternum and did as the doc asked and drank malox to rule out indigestion. it did not help symptoms. bp is all over the place since starting the propanolol 3 weeks ago. i now have a constant flutter and hard beats that take my breath away. my bp reads anywhere from 99/60 to 150/ 105 to 100/99 all while resting. i thought i might have a faulty monitor so i purchased a second one with same results. Went to endocrinologist and found i have a severely inflamed thyroid. i will be doing a pet nuclear test next week. i am at a loss. i feel like im not getting any answers even after having to pay out of pocket with no insurance. And im still unable to accomplish basic household chores without feeling like im going ot pass out or my arm is going to explode.  how can i have such severe symptoms and not have any answers? Has anyone experienced this or know someone that has?? What am i missing?

I think you should consult it with the physician who will guide you more properly than anyone else.  My suggestion is to visit the best cardiac specialist and to do the health checkups. This will overall display the health of cardiac patients.

Its really hard, no.... you have so many different health symptoms going on, and I bet you are so tired.... I wonder whether you might get a second opinion from a functional medicine practitioner...They are better trained than regular medical doctors to find out root causes and put many symptoms together and treat as a whole, rather than individual conditions....  Things like diet can be important - (do you know Paleo, Primal, Perfect Health Diet,...eating unprocessed foods - fish, meat, fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, eggs and healthy oils for the most part, white rice considered ok by Perfect Health Diet, but no other grains, esp not gluten) - and then certain nutrient deficiencies are common, like vitamin D, vitamin C (you can take a lot of vit C without worrying about toxicity, like 5g / day, or so, or up to how much your bowels can tolerate - not indefinitely, but to try clear system out a bit and improve regular immune response...) There are just so many things, a functional medicine practitioner can guide you through it.... hope you get some relief soon....

Oh crikes,  I just re read your stuff and u say you have odd heart beats etc since starting beta blocker. I know someone who got beats skipping after starting a beta blocker and it went back to regular when he stopped it.  You can look up Dr Mark Houstons papers on nutraceuticals for hypertension.  Taurine is a good one, but u can take a look . the doc , It gives natural things that act like the different hypertension drugs.
Check out the Dr Sinatra stuff - little downside there - will go some way to address  heart chest pain if it is that. Have u had your thyroid bloods redone- make sure u r on enough T4 - and T3 is good - thyroiduk site. I would maybe take a look at lifeextension blood clot doc and take some of the supplements it suggests in there.

I have noted Dr mark and your other suggestions. I just redone thyroid panel along with antibodies. So we shall see as far as that. I hadn't had any issues other than hair loss and thyroid swelling but since the chest pains and attacks started my thyroid has stayed stolen. Along with my right lymph node in the neck. But have no idea what's causing it. Will be doing a complete work up  next week. No relief from  ib prophen any longer. Endocrinologist cleared me from it being the stem of my heart issues. But will see about a second opinion. Prescribed prednisone for swelling.

Hi, for heart health, I suggest looking up Dr Sinatras protocol (carnitine, coQ10, magnesium and others). Inadequate thyroid replacement can lead to hypertension and other issues. There is a good forum on healthunlocked called thyroiduk I think, where you will find a lot folk with exeperience of better thyroid treatment. I am not discounting the serousness of your issues. I tend to use doctors to help diagnose then find owm treatments to treat back to optimal health rather than drugs that suppresd symptoms and sooner or later have adverse effects, visible or invisible.
