There are various methods using different formulae, but I use a quick and easy one which gives a pretty good estimate. Normal map is 70-110.
Formula MaP = DP + 1/3 (SP-DP)
so your pressure would calculate thus....
MaP = 88 + 1/3 (142-88)
MaP = 88 + 1/3 of 54
Map = 88 + 18
Map = 106
MAP = (S + 2*D)/3 = (142+ 88+88)/3 = 106
The reason is that your heart stays in diastole twice longer than in systole.
The normal value is 70-110.
I find easier to plot the MAP to follow my BP than to play with the other 2. Also it indicates the perfusion pressure to the organs. Below 60 your organs are suppose not to have good blood flow.
