sister

Hi My sister has told me she has a swollen heart and a enlarged aorta valve.   She felt like she had bronchitis but the doc said it was more than that and she needed more test.   The doctor put her on beta blockers and sent her to diabetic class.  She also needed a stress test, blood test and possible other thing.  She is also morbitly over-weight.  She say the results were that she has a swoller heart and aortic vaulve but the doc say it is basicly high blood pressure.  Do you think it is a bit more serious than that?

Based on what your post indicates is that your sister may have an enlarged heart. The underlying cause would be the stress the heart has meeting the burden of high resistance of constricted vessels (high blood pressure) as well the overweight issue.  The aortic valve can also contribute to the enlargement of the heart.

Thanks for sharing, If you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take care,

Ken
