PS,what your husband may be suffering from is GERD)Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), Gastric reflux disease, or Acid reflux disease is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux in the esophagus.

This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. This can be due to incompetence of the lower esophageal sphincter, transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, impaired expulsion of gastric reflux from the esophagus, or a hiatus hernia.

If the reflux reaches the throat, it is called laryngopharyngeal reflux disease.
Treatment for this is with tablets called Lanzoprazole.

Hello,
Crestor is one of the best and latest Statins available on the market right now, although expensive,it shows that your doctor is spot on with the latest medicines to not only lower LDL cholesterol but also to protect your husbands heart.(so I don't think he is being greedy)in any case if he were wouldn't he recommend more tests?=more money.

If your worried about your husbands heart then you can have either a stress test or an echo cardiogram or both. The stress test test looks how his heart performs at maximum heart rate, while the echo cardiogram looks"inside his heart and his heart valves.
The echo cardiogram will also give him his ejection fraction.(in %)if this is all normal then he should be fine.
On the other side of the coin, you can go for 64 slice CT angiography scan,
which shows all of the heart to cardiologists. This can also be backed up by a myocardial profusion scan should they need to see the tiny blood vessels around the heart.
but these tests can be expensive.
hope this helps.
John.
