why no treatment?

My dad was taken to the hospital.  He was not able to breathe and his chest hurt alittle.  They determined no heart attack.  He has congestive heart failure and his heart was beating irregularly.  They did an echo test on him and he has a leaking heart valve.  They also did a cath on him and he has a blockage in the back of his heart.  Doctor said that he did not recommend stents and could not fix the blockage.  IS this true?   If not, why would they not correct his problem,  He has Parkinson Disease, maybe this is a factor.

If the doctor was unable to stent, it could be that it is completely blocked, and there is normal perfusion to the deficit area with other vessels that compensate for the blocked vesssel.
Or the blockage of the vessel is in an insignificant area and no problem....

What is the underlying cause for your father's CHF...that would explain the breathing problems.  How serious is the valve leakage?
