Low Heart Rate and recurrent SVT

Thank you for your welcome messages.  I have Prolonged QT Syndrome and suffer from frequent SVT episodes that require injections at the hospital to revert back to normal. I have also undergone ablation but after 3 and a half hours the cardiologist wasn't successful and decided to put me on medication.  I would probably have 14 to 20 epidodes per year that can last for over 4 hours if i dont get treatment.  For the last 2months i have been having spellsof lightheadedness that last for hours and happens two or more times a day.  I  can feel my heart beating in my lower throat most of the time but I now notice that my resting pulse rate is dropping below 60 and often below 50. I am used to SVT's I have had them since I was 16 (I am now 52)  but I would like to know if I should be concerned  about the other?

Thanks for your suggestion, I am not seeing a cardiologist at present and have only mentioned the lightheadedness to my GP. She sent me for a head CT which was normal and has tried me on Gaviscon for my reflux thinking that this may be the problem - it has slowed the reflux but has had not had any effect on the lightheadedness. My heart rate is all over the place but I am thinking that it is caused by anxiety even though I am not an anxious person (nothing tends to phase me) I do read what others have written and comments are very helpful.  After a cardiac arrest 15 months ago during an operation I tend to be a lot more aware of my symptoms. I dont want to seem like a hypochondriac.

All comments are very welcome - Thanks

Have you discussed your new symptoms with your cardiologist?

If you historic resting HR was significantly higher than your current 50-60 bpm, that could be the cause of your light headed symptom.  A HR of 50 is unusual, but many people do have that low a resting HR without it being a problem.
