Biaxin XL / Prednisone Heart Rate?

Hello
I have some serious wheezing and have a history of asthma. My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am.
It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down.
I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue.
Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?
I do have a history of general anxiety so I'm wondering if I'm just getting worked up.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Prednisone can definitely cause an elevated heart rate on it's own.  Biaxin can also cause heart palpitations in some people.  But that being said, a resting heart rate of 90 is considered to be within the normal range and anxiety can definitely drive it up.  Try to stop checking your pulse, that can make mine go up for sure.  I did the same thing after taking an antihistamine and got all upset and mine went up to 120.  As soon as I forced myself to relax and quit checking it slowly went back to normal.
