While my case is different in many respect, I'm a senior age male who has undergone heart surgery, I can say that when following surgery my heart lost it sinus rhythm and the rest rate jumped to about 130. My cardiologist just took me on my previously scheduled appointment that came up a few days later. He did not see any need for me to go to the emergency room nor did he rearrange his schedule so that he could see me sooner than the previously scheduled appointment.
I was diagnosed to be in Atrial Flutter, I have been a long term Atrial Fibrillation suffer, that fact may have made my high HR less alarming to my doctor, but I think my experience suggest you should at least schedule the earliest appointment you can get with your doctor.
Hello...
I'm sorry that you are feeling so worried. I'm not sure that I would call this an emergent situation that warrants a visit the ER, if this is your only symptom. You should give your Dr's office a call to see if you can be seen today.
Best of luck and let us know how you make out:)
