Can an Atrial Fibrillation Episode be triggered after having a fever for 10 days

In June I had some kind of bug  -- acheness, fever, cough, loss of appetite,
that diminished but lingered into July.
I have had some but very few LAF afib bouts of 1-4 hours over the last 5 years and I take Flecainide to keep them away.
But I had 2-3 Afib Episodes of 2-6 hours over last weeks.
Could the fever and or inflammation be trigger?

I am in permanent AFig, had surgery but never an ablation.. too late now to change ... that noted.

I recall rumatic fever (sp?) as one possible cause of AFib.. .. this I connect in my mind to your questoin about fevers... you doctor who is treating you heart condition is the best place to ask.. yes I know an obvious ansewer, but worth emphasis.

AF symptoms and triggers tend to be individualized   You will probably find it helpful to keep a journal of what you ate and what you were doing prior to each episode.  The most important thing would be to get this fixed before it progresses to persistent AF.  If it gets there, the success rate of treating AF goes downhill rapidly although still doable at the elite centers where you will have 6-12 months waiting lists.
