Heart Paps and AFib

The last two days I have found myself feeling like I am about to go into AF. Flutters in the chest and I feel like I need to lie down or as traditionally occurs I go into AF or tachycardia. I feel depressed and anxious. I take Sotalol, after a change from Minax, previous to this I had 4 weeks of amiodorone which has now caused an over active thyroid. Will I ever be able to feel normal.

Sorry to read you are having a hard time.  I suffer from permanent AFib, so I don't know what it feels like to feel AFib coming on.  Sotalol is a Class III arrhythmia drug, so you are on some powerful mediation.  I see you were also on Amiodorone which I believe is even more powerful.  That noted, it appears to me your doctor is trying to get you in NSR with drugs, and if they don't work the only options I know of are 1) electrocardioversion (very easy)  2) ablation (more serious) and 3) open heart Maze procedure.  These last two are normally not undertaken unless the patient is having a real bad time with AFib.. your note seems to say you are.

That would happen to me all the time before I had my ablation. Whenever I felt  a attack coming on I would either lay down or meditate by listening to music. Meditating helped my alot. Give it a try,
