It is an electrocardiographic (ECG) criteria for left ventricular hypertrophy.

lewis index is used to calculate and can be an indicator of cardiac hypertrophy, more specifically left ventricular hypertrophy.
the equation used is RI-RIII+SIII-SI > 1.6 mV
I'm in the health care field and after 5 years in the ER and seeing more EKG's than I care to have seen I've NEVER heard of a high lewis index. Good luck in finding it out! Maybe you can post it over on the other forum for a doc to answer.
