Heart palps??? PVCS?? Doctors blowing me off!

I get heart arrythmias daily some small some big. I have had 4-5 ECGs and and ultra sound of my heart and a holter monitor for a month and also 2 x-rays...everything came back nornal as well as all blood work. I started suffering from panic attacks b/c of my heart in the first place....I felt the need to pass out I never do but it feels like it. I breath slowly and I either lay back with my legs up or put my head between my legs and usually I am okay. But My hart arrythmias can last up to 5 min sometimes and then be gone for the day or maybe I will get 2-3 and then they will be gone, but I get them everyday is that normal? I still feel the need to get checked seeing how sometimes I feel the need to pass out (sometimes not everytime it happens I get a lil bit of tightness in the chest like hard to breath( but I can) I also get chest pains afterward but I think its me being in a panic thinking somthing else is wrong b/c other times If I feel it and blow it off I am totally fine.  I am pretty healthy and I did not get heart arrythmias before...I became pregnant and in my 5th month they came on pretty strong and I was checked then and they said it was bengin but it has not gone away since! Does anyone else get these? also is it safe to get pregnant again?? Please anyone with Information would be helpful my doctors keep blowing me off like its nothing.
Also I get rapid heart beats or skippd beats after say I go to the denist and get shots...I have asked to receive the one that doesn;t have the adrenaline in it due to my heart going out of wack after a procedure but even the other stuff make me have irregular beats....there very scarey to me and they fill like my heart is filling up with bubbles and there like fluttering around and they can be pretty big!! ANyways someone please help!
I have tricare so I can't see my regular heart doctor I have seen in the past!
Thanks!

Hello fellow PVC\PAC\Arrhythmia suffer here.  I get PVC's\arrhythmia's ever hour of everyday.  Last holter I had 10000+ PVC in a 24 hour period with couplet PVC's.  In the presence of a normal ECHO and EKG extra premature heart beats are of no clinical significance.  The doctor is not exactly ignoring you, he\she has checked you out and determined that you are healthy and that your condition does not pose and significant risk.  Otherwise the doctor would run further tests and tell you what he\she is thinking about your case.  Sounds like you have had a ton of tests and a holter for a month?  Wow thats a long time.  If nothing major came up in a months time than you are fine.  I know the odd feelings in your chest are bothersome but try and ignore them.  They are harmless and you will be just fine.  I had a normal echo and thousands of PVC in a 24 hour period and the doctor said your fine and sent me on my way.  He didnt even offer me a beta blocker.  Before i left he showed me a EKG of his heart and it showed PVC's.  He said see I have them too, this made me feel a lot better.

Hi I feel mine all the time!  It really bothers me when I try to sleep.  I will be laying there and then feel a skip and a THUMP.  I have tried everything in the world to help them from vitamins, more rest, no caffeine, stress relief, exercise and nothing helped.  I realized that they are just how my heart and body works and have learned to ignore it for the most part.  When I get real anxious about them I take 1mg of Xanax =)

You may be sensitive to something in your food or have an allergy to something.  Perhaps keeping track of what you eat and your symptoms for a couple of weeks will reveal a pattern.

I tend to get whattheheckwasthat? heartbeats just before coming down with cold or flu symptoms. Also, if I eat something with yellow dye #5, the PVCs get worse.

Thank you I will keep an eye out for that...I get them a lot after the denist or when I get the shot....and I get the sensitive shot or w/e they give to heart patients b/c the first time it went crazy and it was scarey! And then it was followed the next couple day with PVCs then I went back again and it happened again it didn't matter what shot I have I still get it :(...anyways Good news I get to see a great Cardiologist next week so I am relieved to see him! I wish it was tomorrow though!

Hi, Rs33...A 48-hour Holter monitor showed that I average about 8500-9000 PVCs a day. I don't need a beta blocker either and am doing okay. My echocardiogram was all right, so the cardiologist said I don't need a beta blocker. I find that when I'm more active and my pulse gets over 85 to 90 beats a minute, my arrhythmia tends to lessen or even go away for awhile.

My cardiologist said:  "I know that your family doctor recommends a beta blocker, but that would slow your pulse down. But you have more irregular beats with a slow pulse, so why take a beta blocker?" Made sense to me. I don't need the side effects of beta blockers anyway. I have acid reflux and beta blockers make that worse.

When I feel some discomfort from the irregular beats, I just get up and walk around or swing my arms. Some times I just change position.  Those things tend to make my irregular beats lessen.  I'm doing fine and sounds as though you are too.  :o)

So have the Dr said if the mur mur has corrected its self. I too have a mur mur when I was younger and the Dr said it has nothing to do with what I'm suffereing from now but if they have know idea why I have IST how do they know they are not related I find this funny and far from convincing lol.

Okay well sorry your not feeling convinced...I was coming on here to feel reassured that I was okay. And no the doctor hasn't said anything thats why I am concerned when I try to ask questions they get pissy and I give up, so I finally got ahold of my cardiologist I saw when I was 13-14 and hopefully he can clear things up for me. I have tricare and have been having problems with them.....and the heart arrythmias got worse when I was pregnant they actually made me sick, the doc had told me its normal in pregnancy and pushed me on my way and said they would go away when I had the baby....well I had the baby and its been a year and I still have them. I don;t know what more you would like me to say...I am not trying to convince anyone I was trying to be reassured that my arrythmias were normal and not life theartning.

Hey there Madge270,

Yes I have noticed that when I workout they tend to go away or if I can get my heart rate higher. I have a resting HR of 45-50 and thats when I tend to get them when resting of just barely walking around or bending over sometimes. I also tend to cough real hard if they continue and they usually will go away. Thank you!! I hope I find out more when I see my Cardiologist! :)

I think you miss-understood what I was not convinced about. What was I trying to say is that I dont know how Dr can say heart mur mur's and later heart problems are not connected when there is not enough research to tell either way.

Sorry if you thought I was saying I was not convinced about something you said.

I too had strange heart sensation threw my 4 pregnancy's that continued to play up after my 2nd on and off and by my 3rd I was almost always having them, diagnoised at 25 with anxiety thought the problem was solved till recently.

What I always try to tell people is stay calm and listen to your body and if you think it more than anxiety then dont ever let Dr's convince you other-wise.

You may need to do research, you may need a new Dr, you may need to buy your self your own monitoring equipment. If your not satisfied with the answers your getting.

I had to change Dr's before I started getting acknolaged, dont get me wrong I did not look for a yes Dr either just one that is willing to look for other answers and talk to me properly about them. My mum has a yes Dr and I hate it. Even with my Dr I still could not prove how serious things were for me. My partner had to come with me cause my anxiety was getting in the way and making me seem like I was over reacting. Then it was a $50 pulse watch that use ECG techknolagy to read my pulse that showed me something I never expected to see. I only got the pulse watch for the gym but I was playing around with to test out the watch and check my base pulse when doing normal things so I could have a base line to know how hard I needed to work to loose weight. When the watch started having reading as high 185 I thought it was brocken but after letting other people use the watch I had to admit that is was not as it was giving normal reading for every one els. I ended up buying a more expensive Pulse watch one that show the reading 100% of the time as it is at that moment and was even more surprised to that it was stay high even after exercise. My phycologist tryed to convince me that I was anxious and causeing the high heart rate my self but after seeing the HR as it happens I found out that absulotly could not be the case. It would have meant that I was scared of of standing lol (how can a person be scared of standing), as it would go up and stay up when I stood and got higher when I walked and higher if I was carrying things.

So please dont think I was trying to be mean I was trying to let you know that while there is a huge posiablility that you just dealing with anxiety there is always a small chance that some thing els may be contributing and may not even be your heart have you had all your hormone level checks etc.

Its alright I took it the other way...Thank you for clearing it up for me...I too had to have my husband come with me to the doctors b/c all I could do was cry and they keep telling me its panic its panic but like you said if you feel something else is wrong to keep pushing it and thats what I am doing....I have been the denist twice in 4 weeks and each time I got a different anthesetic the regular one everyone uses (which made my heart go crazy) and the second just felt like nothing and about 15 an hour after I had the procedure I got up left and felt great and then 10 min Later I just felt hot and felt lik I was gunna pass out. anyways I had to see the denist today and told him what happen....he called my doctor and told her to give me a referal to see my heart specialist....This time I didn;t get any anthestitics and I was totally fine. I stoill get the arrythmias, but when I got the anthestic I felt my Heart just crazy and it continued through the day to the next....I know I have anxiety and I know what the feels like I get butterflies in my tummy and I get shakey and sometimes I feel the need to pass out. anyways thanks I will update everyone as soon as I see my cardiologist :) I am hoping all goes well and it is just panic.

Hi,i think anxiety disorder can indeed make u feel all those symptoms that you have,if you have been to specialist after specialist and they still give u a clean heath bill then its time for you to attend some counselling,i know how it feels, but after so many specialist visits and they cant find anything wrong with you then you indeed are healthy, the only thing wrong with you is because you think something else is wrong there fore your body react to wat you think.Perhaps the next step for you is to visit a neurologist, where they can give u ct scan or mri. This is anxiety disorder.

will people stop saying every thing is anxiety its driving me bonkers. If I had listen to everyone I too would still be thinking it was my anxiety and would not have been put on medication for my IST.

I'm sure Rs33 will be fine..but every one deserves to have proof(via test) that its nothing serious is behind the symptoms. people also deserve to have quality of life...While IST wont shorten my life it was sure making it hard to have life.

she had every cardiac test done, all only being diagnosed with pvc/pac,thats normal.its not ist, afib or etc..the proof is already there,if u dont want to accept the doctor diagnosis,u can always go for 2nd opinion, but if result still normal, then u know the answer.

It may not even be heart related or the events that are causing the problem are not being recreated. I had several ECG and the hoilter monitor none of which showed proof to the Dr that my heart was causing the problem.

PAC's and PVC's are still a problem if the Dr's are not achiving a better out come for her via medication or other method's. Thay may not mean a shorter life but they sound like they interfearring big time and she wants help. I have read little info that say PVC's and PAC are caused by anxiety so stop making her feel like its in her head that the worst feeling in the world in my oppinion to think your head is causing it. she's intillted to achknolagement of these issues are impacting her life.

I did not see you mention a stress test or tilt table test. Has your Dr even susjested these test ever.

During all your test did you ever feel the feeling that were going to pass out if not then I doubt you have recreated the events that MAY be causing the problem. I would be making notes of whats happening at the time you feel these feeling and how bad your feeling and even what your eating and drinking you may find a pattern that might give you an answer ot least point you in a better direction for test or treatment.
