"Has anyone mentioned a possible problem with your Bainbridge reflex, or mentioned Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA)?"
What I should have said was:
Has anyone mentioned a possible problem with your Bainbridge reflex, or mentioned a problem with you Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA)?
RSA is a quite normal thing.
"Skips" or PVC's are perhaps the #1 cardiac inquiry on this forum. In fact, my very own daughter is currently wearing a Holter monitor for that very reason. I've already told her what to expect to hear from the doctor. In most cases, this condition is benign. She's experiencing on or two per minute. 3000 PVC's per day seems to be acceptable in the eyes of most cardiologists.
As for forcefully beating, you could indeed be more sensitive to your heartbeat. How's the BP? Has anyone mentioned a possible problem with your Bainbridge reflex, or mentioned Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA)?
Barring any actual problems with your heart, a beta blocker like Metoprolol might help with the forceful beating.
Pounding as in it feels like a sledge hammer in there beating around. Just hard beats sometime my heart may get up to 120 bpm from mild exertion but that's rare.
You speak in pretty general terms. When you say that your is pounding, what exactly is it doing? Is it beating hard, or beating fast? If it's beating fast, how fast? Measure it, and give us a figure. Several of us here carried a cardiac condition with us from childhood. In my case it was 6 to almost 60. Give us some more details so we can provide you with a better guess. Remember, that's all we can provide, is just a guess.
Ps: sorry about the typos, auto correct stinks. Lol
First off, relax. I know that's easier said than done but being anxious only makes things worse. All of us on here deal with skips and pounding hearts etc. The testing you've had so far looksgood. The only thing I would suggest is to go to a cardiologist and get a work up. Wear a monitor that tracks your heartbeats that way the doc can tell you exactly what's going on. Everyone gets these skipped beats, PVCs, PAC and the like but the div is right, some of us feel every heart beat some don't. They are the lucky ones. Skipped beats in a healthy heart are harmless but maybe if you get a work up it will give you peace of mind and therefore lessen your symptoms. Take it from someone who has been dealing with it fit more than three decades, you have to learn to live with them. Read others posts on here too, that always helps me deal with the anxiety these things bring.
