Thanks for responding :)
I went because I wanted to be sure I didn't have a heart attack. I lead a very active lifestyle and had to be sure I could continue work, jogging, etc. with out risking my heart. I'm not in the best of health and I need to exercise to lower my blood pressure (144/90). That's only recent and I think wholly because of the stress of having been cut back work. I had crushing pain (like I was having the wind kicked out of me) in the center of my chest last Tuesday from about 10 am to 5 pm ish intermittently. It got worse when I leaned forward or coughed and got better when I laid on my side. Since then I had been experiencing little twinges of pain and a few times I felt a fullness in my chest. Finally, I went to a walk in clinic. It wasn't the best place, but I haven't had insurance since January and couldn't really afford a better place.
Thanks again for your help :)
I can help a little bit. Although sinus bradycardia is considered abnormal, it is, in fact, normal for some people to have a resting heart rate of under 60. If you were lying down and you are in pretty good shape physically, it is not uncommon to have your heart rate at 55. As for the counter clockwise rotation, that is too technical to explain and you don't really need to understand it, just that 2/3 of the population have either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation so it may or may not signify an underlying disease. Since 2/3 of us have it, and most of the people that DO have it do not have heart disease, doctors would only worry about this if there were other factors involved. Why did you get an EKG in the first place?
