I get palps after meals, any meal though. Carbs are worse, chinese definately bad for me, I get terrible reflux too have had since this started. But yeah the attacks also seemed to occur after foods. I was eating sweets once when it hapened, pizza another time, chocolate another. Always after food I'd get them but only around my period too. Sinus tacy with PACs I apparently get according to the holter with these attacks which they say are panics... I have no idea.
I dont know what i got, But it prompted me to see a cardio in the first place.
I was minding my own business fast asleep in tenerife on holoday, and was awoken up with heart flutters, my heart was all over the place, just skipping beats every singe beat, i shot out of bed, walked round for a bit, still carried on, took my pulse was beating really fast and fluttering, i woke my partner up, scared me to bits.. it calmed down, i was wheezy, and scared, managed to get back to sleep.. and for the next 3 days (last days of holiday) I didnt go far from hotel, i was wheezy, and scared, got the odd flutter here and there too.. (more thn i had before this episode)..
Went striaght to docs when i got back, had bloods, echo, 24 holtor monitor and an ecg all came back fine, except for sinus tachy was detected..
Still scared me though, so i went private to seek a second opinion, had a 48 hr holtor and it detected pvc's and pac's.. few mnths later i ate a macdonalds, was well salty, and it brought them on constantly again, within 10 mins of eating it flutter, flutter flutter, beat after beat, heat rate must of been roughly 150 at this time, this lasted from 3.30pm to 8.30pm then calmed down... Was well scary but again not caught on a monitor.. That is the frustrating bit, these episodes have not been detected, becuase they have not happened whilst being monitored! This is what scares me, how do i know i dont get vt, svt, afib etc etc... This is what sets my anxiety off big time... Can't even eat macdonalds now, had to stop chinese food now macdonalds and indian.. am fine with chip shops though, so not all bad.. but still... urgh
Yup. When you get the SVT did you get all flushed and hot feeling then when it calmed you feel cold and shaky?
Did the svt attacks get detected on your holtor? I swear this is what i have, but never been caught on the monitor, or something like that.. Where my hr would speed up big time and the fluttering starts, only for a few mins, have lasted a few hrs where its bad for few mins then eases off for a few hours then goes.. with just the odd pac/pvc ... Scary.. Is this what you have?
I'm in Yorkshire, Uk. I've just started seeing a new cardio so I am gonna see what he says. My old one said it was anxiety. I don't have any treatment for the reflux but wondered if it would help. Saying that, now I'm pregnant I'm not sure what they can give me.
I too had the PACs, my monitor results noted them. I also get them in relation to hormones or if I have a virus on me.
Awe sweet i dont have the answer but a cardio will, you need to find yourself a good one who can give you answers..
There have been alot of people on this board, including myself who thinks food can be a cause, not just what the food is, but gerd, indigestion, hernia etc... I wonder?
Strange how the propananlol caused your pacs, i been giving this to take as needed, but i dont like it, its calmed my heart rate down but not stopped the pacs which i want gone!
What about if you treat your acid reflux? Take medicaion for it daily? Wonder if that will help? (there is a post on here somewhere, where someone treat that and their heart probs subsides dramiticly)..
I hear you about the long episode, its well scary, i to get told its anxiety, p's me off, these episodes come before the anxiety.. wish professionals would take note..
I have found a great cardio here in Leicester, if your near by? lol.. He gets pacs, pvcs palps etc, so he understands, and i am ok to see him every few months (i went private).. For reasurance etc, I am seeing him again now in April and going to ask for a loop recorder even monitor (30 day one) Because these long episodes i have had have not been happening during my 48hr holtor monitor..
Feel free to message me too ;-)
