shooting pains from chest to brain

I had always had chest pains in the past with everything ruled out with echos, stresstests, cat scan of chest, cardiac cath cat scan where they place the iodine in your arm and run you through a cat scan to see the arteries, anyway all these were negative and lately I now had been having shooting pains from my heart to my head and it feels like the arteries in my head have alot of pressure and my head constantly hurts. I sometimes get dizzy and confused, I dont know what it is and whats wrong with me! is this a circulation problem, a heart or aorta problem, a heart electrical problem?? i fell like at anytime  a artery in my head will pop!
Does anyone know of this problem?
thanks!

My 15 year old son came home from work early yesterday not feeling very well. He said he had a sharp pain from his chest to his head for about 5 mins and then was left dizzy and confused and said his legs were like jelly. The whole thing lasted about 20mins? He works as a waiter and said once he got outside he felt better.

I think picking up a heart harlter in 1.5 weeks is strange, when i wore them in the past at another cardiologist office they would have you go by and pick it up as long as you knew how to wear it. with those i would record a episode and after so many i would send them through the phone line to a call center. then reset the monitor . Ive had 3 echo's 2 chest x rays ct of my chest , cardiac cat scan, a stress test and a nuclear stress test, the nuclear one is from 4 years ago.
thanks fo rthe well wishes, I need all the luck i can get.

What do you think is strange?

Will you be wearing a Holter monitor or an event monitor?  With a Holter, you don't have to record any episodes, the machine keeps a continuous record.  With an event monitor, you would have to "record" episodes and transmit them via a phone line.

Have you had a chest xray?  echocardiogram?

Good luck at Mayo!

i noticed at night my heart has pauses and am wondering if the heart rate is really low or weak during the night while i sleep because i wake with backpain running from my front to my back and feels like the blood flow is stagnant?sometimes i can hear a noise similar to the one you hear when your salivary glands produce alot of saliva, only in my chest. I wonder while I was b ulimic I maybe tore or ruined nerves that control the heart.
I went to my cardiologist on friday, and he assigned me a monitor to wear for  a month straight!!! i pick it up in a week to a week in a half, which i think is strange .i also have a appointment with the mayo clinic this wednesday to start this ball rolling as to whats up~

Have you had an MRI to rule out a cervical spine connection?  My Mom had terrible pains in her shoulder and arm.  We insisted on a cath and it turned up good results.  Next, she went for a neuro consult and ended up with surgery on her vertebrae....We could not believe the pain was coming from her neck when her neck felt fine...

You shouldn't be able to tell how the blood in your aorta feels...that's sounds strange??

Talk with the cardio, but I'm wondering if a neurologist would be of more help...Keep us posted.

Ive been to my Dr many times and they tell me to stay hydrated and the pain is coming from my neck, but this pain doesn feel anything like that. My heart seems like its shooting the blood in my head either to hard ,not hard enough or irregularly.Once ,and I told my Dr this,as we were bike riding, it felt like the blood shot up in my brain caused a shooting head pain and I felt a numbing sensation across the front of my face on the right.
After that I had steady headaches for about 2.5weeks accompanied with  dizziness, lightheadedness and fogginess. Ive had a echo early this year, with good results. When I wake up in the am my blood flow feels like its stagnant, especially in the aorta . My left kidney and or spleen area hurts as during the day and night off and on, like its bursting/full with blood.Once, just as it felt  like what ever blood  left that region immediately I got a sharp back pain(in the kidney region)  that dispersed left and right at the same time then it immediately shot down the center ! Sometimes my legs feel heavy and always-always my hands fingers and or arms are numb when I wake up.Once in awhile my feet will swell up for a full day, with no known reason. Ive gone to the ER twice each time they take their blood tests and dont know whats wrongI At one ER they took a CAT Scan Of My aorta .I have a copy of it for my Cardiologist.I have a Cardiologist appointment tomorrow, hopefully we can settle this !

When did you have all of those tests?  Can you get any relief from the pain?  For example, does Tylenol help?

Have you discussed this new pain with your family doctor?  It does not sound like an "electrical" problem, and if the tests were recent, I'm thinking your heart is fine.  Do you tend to panic or worry about your health?  Do you have a tendency toward anxiety?

If the pain persists, and you are concerned go to the ER to be checked out.
