I know that it is scary, but you will feel worse to cancel the appt. It is a breeze, really. I was equally as scared...you always think the worse. The stats for the ablation is on your side and to be rid of SVT will give you a new lease on life. I will never regret having the ablation and I had not one issue during or afterwards.
Think positive thoughts and know that you will be fine.....all of this site who had a ablation, live to tell about it, smiles. Talk to your doctor for re-assurance....if that will help.
And please let us know how everything went of Monday....you will be fine and so happy when it is over.

Your anxiety is completely normal....so try not to worry about worrying : )
For now, just take one step at a time....Today, it's just getting over the long weekend. Tomorrow is a new day (and no ablation scheduled). Wednesday is hump day. Thursday means getting ready for the weekend. Friday, finishing up the work/school week. Saturday and Sunday -- spend them enjoying family and friends. Monday, the ablation....Tuesday, a new beginning!
Hang in there 770sheila. For now, it's only Monday.

for u now the best people to discuss this with is your family.it is perfectly normal to be afraid when dealing with the heart, there are meds u can take instead of the ablation but in the longrun do u want to be on meds.
u do what is best for u and discuss this with your family and your doctor
i wish u the best of luck with this.
I have had several ablations and the procedure is a breeze. No pain just worry because it is your heart. I have SVT but mine is hard to ablate because it is close to my AV node. So I'm a rare case. 2-3 minute spells isn't very bad at all. I guess they scare you (like me). Mine last for hours sometimes days. So I will say the procedure is easy and I know several people who it totally cured. There is those of us that wonder if we should have ever bothered because it didn't help. Make sure you are going to an EP specialist (an experienced one). There are medicines to take that sometimes help instead of the procedure. The procedure is nothing they do them all the time now and I promise you will not die. Good Luck.
I had my ablation 2 weeks ago. It is virtually painless, do get sedation and the recovery is very rapid, I was back at work in two days with no restrictions other then no vigorous exercise for a week. I was getting afib almost every day and that has stopped. Just know that full recovery where you stop all medications takes approx three months. I have found the temporary medication to be easily tolerable.
hi hun,i totally understand your anxiety having just had my ablation just 12 days ago.i think the risk of death from the procedure is less than 1%.if you decide to go through with it make sure you get sedation.i am hopeful that i am now cured so it is definetely been worth going through.my quality of life will be much improved.as far as i know svt isnt life threatening.
