GI related PVC possibilities

Hello,

Yesterday, I had a visit with my GI because of my current long lasting episode of PVC's, PAC's and I have had belching, bloating, gas. The arrythmias are benign, but sometimes I cant help but wonder what that really means to an individual who is mentally plaqued by them. I have to take a .5 Klonopin at night when these things have been on the rampage all day and it still comes and goes.

after talking with my GI she left me with some possibilities for GI related arrthymias:

1. eschimic activity in some of the smaller stomach blood vessels
2. diverticuli
3. food triggers
4. vagus nerve irritation
5. any anxiety or depression where there might be a drop in Seratonin

I must say, my GI did not dispense with the possibility of GI related Ectopics

I hope this update on my PVCs is of some help. thanks ....best to you

Many sufferers report correlation between PVCs and digestive issues, but drs rarely seem to acknowledge it. Same with vagus nerve irritation, which in turn can be triggered by stomach issues. I read an article on a chemical called tyramine which suggested that it could cause arrhythmias - it is found in aged meats, cheese, chocolate, over ripe fruit. Google Daily Mail tyramine. Cardiologists seem disinterested in looking for root causes of PVCs and many of us on here are dismissed without a full explanation of our condition. I often think of I had had my PVCs explained clearly to me, instead of being told 'You're fine, not harmful', I would have been spared years of anxiety and panic about them.

Hi,

thanks for your response. yes, i agree that the PVCs, PACs are annoying, and unpredictable. I take achiphex for my GERD/HIatal Hernia, but still get horrible episodes of these Ectopic beats. Also, the anxiety associated with these PVCs, just makes it worse. thanks for your reply and best to you.

Thank you for your update. I've also been suffering from what seems to be GI related PVCs/PACs. They are SO annoying. In addition to the possible causes you have listed, I've also found that acid reflux medication (Zantac or Tums) often makes my PVCs worse.
