heart rate

sometimes after an chiropractic adjustment or I get severly bloated from eating My heart rate jumps to 128bpm and swelling of my muscles (after the adjustments) and lasts for hrs if I lay down it slowly comes down to the 90s to the 80s but if I stand up it goes back up. it will eventually go back to the 60s after I relax and the swelling goes down. I am 53 and my blood pressure has been anywhere   from 100-124 on top to 72-76 on the bottom what causes this and should I be concerned????

In the absence of other symptoms it seems unlikely that you have a heart rhythm problem.  Can you draw any physical connections between the "procedure" and "bloating"?  I have no ideas/knowledge about chiropody but it seems possible that such a procedure could put pressure/stress on organs/nerves similarly to what bloating would do.  Just a thought.

Good luck,

Do you have any other heart rhythm symptoms?  Have you ever been checked with a EKG by your primary doctor or a cardiologist?  One should include some heart checks at the "annual" physical once one reaches middle age+.

Have you discussed with your Chiropractor? There may be some connection between your "adjustment" and the high HR that is known to the Chiropractor.
