Nature evolved it to improve O2 absorption. When you breath in, HR speeds up to pump more blood (into the lungs) for the fresh air. As we breath out (exhale, HR will slow down, which slows the blood flow through the lungs.
This improves blood/gas exchange. As we age it gets less pronounced, I'm 45 and still have it.
I'm 31 years old and I have the same thing, the holter monitor test I did showed sinus arrhythmia as well, thing its kinda normal I guess, some people heart rhythm changes while breathing, my doctor told me its common..
