My sister watches this nighttime version of a daytime soap opere that comes on Soap Network. I was visiting with her while she was watching it, and I had to start LAUGHING!!! This groom goes into the ER and is suffering from long QT syndrome. This is the first time EVER that he has passed out or noticed anything weird at all and EVERY TIME he stands up he hits the floor. The doctors tell him that his heart beats irregularly and that "its like a heart murmur but worse." I about fell out of my chair laughing at that one. Then they go on to say that they are going to do open heart surgery to "repair the valve" and this will cure him of all ills. He decides he's going to leave the hospital first to attend his wedding, and the doc says, "I'm gonna prescribe you a beta blocker and you have to promise to come back first thing tomorrow." Then the guy stands up and has a heart attack....right then, right there.. out of the blue.
Okay, I get that it's TV, but this was inane. AND I thought, geez, if some of the people on the forum, or who are out there without the forum see this they could go into a panic. You know it takes nearly no time to investigate the ACTUAL condition and at least say some of the correct things.
Man...I laughed so hard, and my sister kept asking me what was so funny. I'm like, do you know how insanely FAKE that is? Boy, if the show had any credibility before that episode (which is questionable) it sure lost it from there!!!
Anyway...if by chance you saw it, and it frightened you, have no fear. The episode was WAY off line with their presentation of the situation!!
