Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure

I have had high blood pressure that I know of for one week now.  I started taking Thiazide (25 mg) once per day, but it doesn't seem to be lowering it enough.  My readings are still 144/98 average and last night went up to 136/120.  The diastolic pressure has been in the 110's for at least one week now.  I am feeling light headed and dizzy still.

What should I do?

I agree, I was diagnosed 2 years ago.  It took me going to a walk in clinic to see a doctor who didn't even know me to get to the bottom of it.  I have to take extra "water" pills to keep the diastolic low.  Don't wait.  Get going to the doc today.

Those are pretty high pressures, considering that you are taking medication.  Call your doctor tomorrow, tell him/her what your numbers are, and that you are worried because your pressures remain high.  If the doc does not ask you to come in, ask for an appointment to discuss a different medication.  I tried five, I think, before we found one that worked for me.
