I hate that so many experience these crazy things, but am so glad I'm not alone. I HAVE had the "thud".....lol Sometimes I wake up feeling like someone pulled my heart out of my chest and I have a "drop" sensation. Goodness knows I should be used to this stuff after 35 years, huh? Nope. Well, I mean I DO go right back to sleep usually and hey, I don't think I'm especially anxious in the middle of the night either so it isn't that.
Holiday? Could be. I know my big difference is added stress (even the good kind is still stress) and extra food. A LOT of extra food.....and sugar...and carbs....and wine......:)
My nights are horrible at times. The best way to explain it is like my brain is falling asleep and I will jar awake and the pvc's kick in and I gasp for air. I also awake to what I think is afib, yet they have never been able to catch it...and God help me if I go to sleep nauseated, because I will suffer all night with my heart. I feel so much worse in the afternoons and at night which irritates me because I'm a night person. I do not like to get up early, although to get anything done and not feel these crazy beats, I have to get up early. I hope you have a restful night!
I have had same thing. Wake up thinking something weird was happening, not sure what and all normal during the day. Bothers me when it happens.
PS: I'd be willing to bet most of us aren't getting enough sleep lately either, I know I'm not...got about 4 hours last night and about to go out shopping again...guaranteed recipe for a crazy beat night. :-)
Hey Rita! I know just what you are talking about, been getting some strange "night stuff" too. Michelle, been getting those thuds a lot too lately, mostly at night and not much during the day....do you guys think it has anything to do with the season? I was looking at posts from around this time last year and it seemed like everyone's crazy beats were acting up a bit more during the holiday season. Maybe the extra stress that naturally comes with the shopping, parties, planning, and all the other holiday stuff is getting to us? Who knows? Just another thought from the peanut gallery.
I am not sure what you are feeling, if they are more beats in a row than you normal have or ever had or if it is something else. For me I will sometimes wake up to what I can only describe as a thud. I don't know that I have ever felt it during the day and I don't get it every night, maybe a couple of times a month but I wake with a start and seem to feel the ending of some sort of thud or something. Though when I wake I am not really sure what happened because I was sleeping a second ago. My cardiologist wasn't sure what it is either but said if it started to happen more often we can try a monitor to catch it. Maybe you can get a monitor to catch this thing you are having though I am sure both our cardiologist will say it is nothing to worry about. ; ) So annoying.
