I'm a 54 year-old male that is one year post-op from a 3-vessel CABG. I had the surgery as a result of angiogram results - not an M.I. The surgeon also performed a Maize (sp?) procedure in an attempt to alleviate my a-fib. I am not taking any prescription meds at this point in time, and have been walking about 3 miles per day until the second week of Dec. Last week, after resuming walking, I experienced an irregular heart rate (about 12 hours post-execise) and went to the ER to be checked. It turned out to be PACs. Electrolytes and all the other blood work were good. The PACs occur about 12 hours after exercise now - like clockwork - and wake me up at night.
Any thoughts on where I might start researching what is going on? What happens 12 hours after exercise? Blood sugar drop? Can blood sugar extremes trigger PACs?
I certainly appreciate any thoughts offered on this!
