valve degeneration

I have aortic insufficiency, and mitro stenosis.  I had a cardiologist tell me that I might need a balloon put in my valve to open it more??  Never heard of that one.  They are watching me for double valve replacement. (two cases of rhuematic fever: child and adult)   Recently, I have weakened with trouble breathing and dizzyness.  My chest is hurting in the aortic region and also on the side of my neck.  I am on atenolol and coumadin.  Body temp drops after eating and at times BP is 90/50.
What do you think this chest/neck thing going on is?  ideas?

That could be good news, in a time of bad news.  I believe thyroids can cause heart problems, and are responsive to drugs...not sure that's what you've been told, but sounds like a possibility.

Doctor called.  Seems there is an infection going on and other tests pointing to possible thyroid problems...time will tell

I think the valve problem is causing your chest and neck going on.  Low blood pressure can cause dizziness.

Has your doctor recommended a schedule for repairing your valves?

I had my mitral valve repaired in 2007.  It is a serious operation, but one that must be undertaken in some cases.
