wake up at night with high heart rate

I have been waking up at night with high heart rate. Right before I wake up I recall somethings I am concerned about, which cause stress. I am a 50 year old male. I went to urget care, they got an ekg and it was normal. They refereed me to an ear nose throat Dr. for follow up, and they said to follow up with them if it persists. I am not buying a heart rate monitor that can save the data so I can share it with the Dr. I like to exercise, and lately been lifting more than I usually do. But I am going to shift to more cardio workouts. I really do not want to do that since I see positive results from my lifting, but I am concerned. My question is if I am doing everything I should be. I have been monitoring my blood pressure and it is fine. The two concerns I have is the stress, and stranous exercise. I am changing my exercise, and going to see a physician. I did ask about seeing a cardiologist but they suggested I should see the ENT first. I have always had trouble breathing and I do snore, so it might be a case of sleep apnea but I am not taking that lightly either.

In case you did not I think you need to make a sleep study. If that takes too long you can try a smart watch that can analyze your sleep patterns. I can suggest a specific model I am using but I am not sure it is allowed in the forum.
