have your friend recover from it?
Yes, my friend had exactly those symptoms and was diagnosed with acute anxiety and panic disorder. Call your doctor!
try to divert your mind and focus your self in something else that you can for get your problem for a while like a hobby. etc.., Do a walk every morning it will help alot for you, it will minize the beat of your heat.. try this in 5 days..
You are not alone. Many people get these feelings. Often they can turn into panic attacks or, with treatment they can disappear. You are not "crazy." If indeed this is a panic disorder or generalized anxiety, it is likely due to a chemical imbalance and is a medical condition. Speak to your doctor. Having come on suddenly, it is possible that there is an underlying medical cause for this which could be hormonal or glandular. It could be also that you've had some level of anxiety for years and didn't realize it. Either way, it is up to your doctor to decide and prescribe the next course of action.
Good luck,

Do you drink caffeine? and do you work out much? Caffeine can affect your heart rate easily if you're sensitive to it and if this is the case stopping drinking caffeine products can help fix the problem. However, if you don't think this is causing it then you should see a doctor. Especially if it's only been going on for 3 days and you're this worried. Anxiety/nervousness can cause a high heart rate but if you're not anxious or nervous about anything then this probably isn't it. Stress and inactivity can hold quite a load on your heart as well. Do you have alot of stressful things going on in your life? Your best solution overall is to relax and make a doctors appointment. Best of luck.
