Milk Thistle

Guys,

Does any1 take milk thistle? I have been taking them on a daily basis since going on combo-treatment. From what i have read it does help the normal functioning of the liver so what is good can't be bad huh.... Well my question is, currently i take 1 milk thistle daily on dosage: 175mg. However, in my local health store, they are advertising Super Milk thistle tabs at 3000mg. Do you think it would not be wise to change over to such a higher tab? I'm guessing these super tabs just benefit the liver more but what are your views?

Hello biobrain, I only sure that you have a million questions. There are a lot of books out there about the disease. I usually gravitate to the natual health since my hel C is untreatable. Milk thistle is great. There is a product called Liv 52, you can find it on line, that is wonderful. If you go to the site hep central you can find a lot of help from others. TY

I have recently been diagnosed as chronic Heb B carrier, I do not know hen I have contracted this. May be many years back .

I have been referred to hepatologist/liver specialist by me NHS GP (UK). However I am yet unable to book any appointment with liver specialist as it is not available.

So I have started Milk Thistle on my own 175mg twice a day. I am not sure If it works or not. But I was having no choice but to take something to protect my liver if I can. So for my LFTs are normal I am not sure If there is any damage to my liver or not?

I have been told by NHS that viral load is 5000 (copy number or IU still not clear) I have been trying to call them to confirm today but no response. Very poor service by NHS UK.

Anyhow I am on Milk Thistle now. Started four days before.
