Is this what it means to be "Functionally Cured"?

Opinion of doctor Gish From HBF.

Any thoughts?

Correct me if I'm wrong but sound like a person who is chronically infected (SAG positive) and undetectable levels of DNA is functionally  cured.

functional cure means patients will have to take one of the new drugs for only a limited period of time–compared to the current long-term reliance on antivirals that patients take in order to keep their viral loads down and prevent liver damage.with loss hbsag
No according to doctor in this article HBVDNA undetectable  HBEAG undetectable  HBSAG non reactive/ undetectable.

But the abscence of surface anti bodies.

This can still be achieved with current treatents but its very rare.

And from my understanding is he leans to this opinion as the immune system may be producing anti bodies that current technology cant measure.

I'm not on any drugs and my test results are SAG positive/non-reactive, EAG negative and DNA at 40 where <20 is undetectable level. Technically, I'm close but no cigar.
